About Me:
I am an actor and theatre artist based in DC and NYC with over 20 years of experience in the professional theatre and on camera, in film and TV.
I grew up in Danville VA and in the Blue Ridge Mountains my family has called home for many many generations. The music and storytelling traditions of Appalachia have deeply impacted who I am as an artist.
I have acted in over 75 professional productions in my career. Some very favorite theatrical roles include Blanche in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and Bella in THE SOUND INSIDE at Everyman, where I am a member of the resident company, Amanda in PRIVATE LIVES at Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Bev/Kathy in CLYBOURNE PARK at Baltimore Center Stage, and Nora in A DOLL’S HOUSE at Gulfshore Playhouse. I have appeared in world premieres and in contemporary and classic plays at 59E59 off-Broadway, Woolly Mammoth, The Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Stage, Ford’s, Round House, Rep Stage and The Olney in DC, and at Weston Playhouse, The Public Theatre of Maine, The Maltz Jupiter, Hippodrome State Theatre and PlayMakers Rep and at other regional theatres. I have a great deal of experience in developing new works as well, at new play festivals and in workshops at many theatres up and down the East Coast. As a young actor in New York I was a founding ensemble member of The Ground Floor Theatre Lab, and performed with Gorilla Rep, Todo Con Nada and in the NYC Fringe, and in many other intimate downtown spaces. I earned my MFA from the Professional Actors Training Program at UNC-Chapel Hill/Playmakers Rep.
Producing experience includes The Actors Salon, which brought together esteemed actors and directors from NYC, LA and other regions--as well as DC--with rarely produced American Classics by or about women in an event space. In our tenure, The Actors Salon produced over a dozen sold out events in DC and NYC.
On camera, I have appeared on television, in independent films and web series, national commercials and in dozens of industrial films for clients across the public and private sector.
I am also an acting teacher, an audition coach, and sometime director. I wear a lot of hats--and usually a wedge heel.
Some other things I am passionate about: rose gardening, cooking, champagne and caftans (see wedge heel above), running long distances very slowly, my husband and my dog, our spot in the woods, friends, and laughing every gaht damn day.
I am represented by Renee Glicker of About Artists Agency in NYC.
Thanks for stopping by.
